There will be an Ark La Tex Music Show on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sabine Theater. Come out and enjoy some great country and gospel singing.
Built in the 1940s as a "movie house" (one of Many's only two movie theaters for quite some time), the Sabine Theater is one of the few remaining original single-screen theaters in the area. The Sabine Parish Players are having two comedies: 27 Wagon's Full of Cotton and A Phoenix Too Frequent at the Sabine Parish Theater on August 14th at 7pm and August 15th at 2pm.

The Town of Many operates on taxes generated from a one-cent sales tax (which funds general operations and the road department), from a quarter-cent sales tax (which funds city water improvements), and from a 15.22-millage ad valorem (property) tax imposed on all non-homestead extempt property in the city limits.
With regards to the city's property taxes, Freeman is proud that in the past 18 years he has served as mayor, the town has rolled back (decreased) the ad valorem tax rate 10 times, and never once raised the rate imposed on residents, property-owners and business-owners.
And with regards to sales taxes, Freeman is also enthused that the city's sales tax collections have increased 98 percent during the past 18 years. He attributes the increases to growth related to Toledo Bend, largely tourism growth and some population growth.
The tax rate in the Town of Many is 9.625%. This is broken down as follows:
