There will be an Ark La Tex Music Show on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sabine Theater. Come out and enjoy some great country and gospel singing.
Built in the 1940s as a "movie house" (one of Many's only two movie theaters for quite some time), the Sabine Theater is one of the few remaining original single-screen theaters in the area. Though only occasionally is a movie shown here, it still maintains its original look, just with all upgraded facilities. Read more...
The Sabine Parish Players are having two comedies: 27 Wagon's Full of Cotton and A Phoenix Too Frequent at the Sabine Parish Theater on August 14th at 7pm and August 15th at 2pm.

ABOUT MANY's SEWER AND WATER
Water
"For a community of our size, we have a state-of-the-art water system," Mayor Ken Freeman proudly states.
Many's water system includes a surface water plant on Toledo Bend Reservoir (out at Matthews Lakeview Lodge Road) which has production capacity of 1.6 million gallons per day. Also part of the water system are water wells with production capacity of 1.6 million gallons per day.
The water is tested quarterly (four times a year) by the state Department of Environmental Quality, and the city takes the added measure of testing the water internally weekly to ensure it meets all mandated needs for drinking water.
The town recently added generators to ensure water production continues even during times of peril.
"With Hurricane Rita (during which most of Sabine Parish faced several days of power outages), it became apparent that our water system was vulnerable to loss of electricity causing citizens to endure water outages," Mayor Freeman explained.
Because of this, the city spent $600,000 on generating systems, which recently went into operation. Both the city's sewer and water plants are on the generators to prevent interruptions of services.
Sewer
In the 1970s, under the administration of former Mayor Virginia Godfrey, the town constructed a modern sewer plant with the capacity to service 50,000 people. This plant is well suited for any future expansion in Many.
