The Mayor and
Aldermen met in regular session January 12,2010,5:00 p.m., at City Hall.
Present were Mayor Kenneth A. Freeman and Aldermen LD. Bostian, James Kennedy,
John Hoagland and Barbara Peterson. Absent was Alderman Jeanetta Dean. Also
present were Lee Woods, Johnnie Maxie, Agnes Green, Clint Drew, Polly Snell,
Bonnie Killian, Willie Lee Davis and Jeremy Koss.
LD. Bostian led
prayer and Mayor Freeman led pledge.
Minutes unanimously
approved by motion by Bostian, second by Peterson.
Amend Agenda: Motion
was made by Peterson, second by Kennedy to amend the agenda by the following:
Resolution for Retirement Grant. Vote: unanimous.
Old Business: None
Approve Bills: Motion
by Bostian, second by Kennedy to approve the bills as paid. Vote: unanimous.
Reports:
Financial: All members
received copy of current financial statement.
Chief: No report.
Tourist: Aldermen
Peterson reported that Toledo Bend had been named in the Top 11 Spots to Live. The
Tourist Commission has produced a new RV Guide and there will be an Antique Car
Show in March.
Sales Tax: Alderman
Bostian reported that the sales tax for the Town of Many was down 9.50%.
Airport: No Report.
Engineering Report:
Norman Nassif reported that all the paperwork for the DEQ Stimulus Funding had
been completed.
Grant Writer Report:
Agnes Green reported that the Retirement Grant was completed and would be sent
off the next week. Resolution #1 of 2010 - Resolution Authorizing the Mayor to
Sign the Retirement Grant, Motion was made by Peterson, second by Kennedy to
adopt the resolution. Vote: unanimous.
Off Probation: Motion
by Hoagland, second by Kennedy to take the following employees off probation:
Doug Murray, Jordan Brumfield and Ethel White. Vote: unanimous.
Change February
Meeting: Motion by Kennedy, second by Peterson to change February meeting to February
16,2010. Vote: unanimous.
Motion by Bostian,
second by Kennedy to adjourn. Vote: unanimous.
